There has been confusion about Kakashi using Edo Tensei in Naruto. We’ll be clearing the whole concept in this article. So let’s start with the basic question.
What is Edo Tensei in Naruto?
The Edo Tensei is a martial art that connects the soul of a dead person to a living body, allowing them to operate from the body as they were in the final seconds before death.
What Was the Purpose of Kakashi Using Edo Tensei?
Kakashi actually never used Edo Tensei, but he did die and was revived by Nagato who used Rinne Rebirth Jutsu to revive everyone who was killed during the Pain invasion.
Kakashi’s death did serve a purpose that he was able to get a huge burden off of his chest of telling his father Sakumo Hatake that he was proud of him, which made his father’s soul pass onto the next world.
The other users of Edo Tensei are Tobirama who created the jutsu. The others include Orochimaru and Kabuto, who used it for their personal reasons which was mainly destruction but Orochimaru also used it to help Sasuke in the end.
This also brings up another question.
Is Edo Tensei the same as reanimation?
The Edo Tensei is similar to reanimation jutsu in many ways, but the reanimated ninja does not generally die from their injuries. They can simply bear multiple injuries, cuts, and body damage and can regenerate their body instead of passing away.
