The ninja world is full of powerful leaders, the so-called Kage. But not all of them have been able to stay alive for very long.
Kage is considered the pinnacle of being a shinobi in the Naruto world. And they are the ones responsible for protecting the village and (most of the time) dying in that process.
Let us take a look at which Kage should have stayed alive and which ones probably shouldn’t have.
Some of the Kage who have died didn’t really deserve to die. For example, Minato Namikaze.
Minato Namikaze (Fourth Hokage)
If there is any Kage that should have stayed alive, it would be the fan-favorite Minato.
Minato was one of the few who was able to lead his village for an extended period of time. He was considered a genius and was respected by many. He was a powerful leader and will be remembered as one of the greats.
Gengetsu (Second Mizukage)
Gengetsu Hōzuki (鬼玖 幻月, Hōzuki Gengetsu) was the Second Mizukage (二代目水影 Nidaime Mizukage; Literally meaning “Second Water Shadow“).
He was the leader of Kirigakure during the Warring States Period. He was also a major figure in shaping the village during its founding as one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
He was known for his unique fighting style which made use of water jutsu and was said to be able to control the weather itself.
He was also a master of genjutsu and was said to be able to trap an opponent in an illusion for days on end. Hozuki was a powerful shinobi and was respected by many.
Tobirama (Second Hokage)
The other candidate would be Tobirama since we know he was killed by the Gold and Silver Brothers and the Jonins from the Hidden Cloud.
Considering how intelligent Tobirama was, he should have been able to survive and even thrive in that battle.
People still think that he could have stayed alive and prevented the 4th Great Shinobi War and the attacks from Akatsuki.
Hashirama (First Hokage)
Hashirama was the first Hokage of Konoha, meaning he was the first leader of the Hidden Leaf Village.
He was an exceptionally strong shinobi and was known as the “God of Shinobi”.
He was also the creator of the Wood Release, which he used to help build Konoha.
