How Did Obito Get the Rinnegan?
After Nagato died, Obito goes to the Rain village, kills Konan who was refusing to give Nagato’s Rinnegan, and then steals the Rinnegan from his body and places it in his left eye socket.
While he only used one eye and was not its original owner, Obito nonetheless acquired a tremendous amount of power from it. While stating that he couldn’t manage more than one eye, Obito was capable of performing all Six Path Techniques.
In Which Episode Obito Gets Rinnegan Abilities?
There isn’t a specific episode that shows Obito obtaining his Rinnegan, but in multiple episodes, we get hints that he has acquired it already.
In episode 253 “The Bridge to Peace” of the Naruto Shippūden, Obito has disguised himself as Madara (Tobi), whose face is masked and he kills Konan and takes Nagato’s body.
In Episode 255 titled “The Artist Returns” we see that Obito has already taken Nagato’s Rinnegan and has implanted it n his left eye.
In episode 344 of the anime Naruto Shippuden, Obito accepts to follow Madara Uchiha’s path, and Madara explains to him, how to awaken the Rinnegan.
In episode 375 of Naruto Shippuden, Obito clashes with Kakashi in one-on-one combat. However, this time he is using both eyes to see with!
It is now revealed that he has somehow already obtained the Rinnegan abilities after Nagato’s death.

Does Obito Get Nagato’s Rinnegan?
Yes, Obito steals Nagato’s Rinnegan Eyes which originally belonged to Madara.
Why Did Obito Never Awaken the Rinnegan?
When Obito was saved by Madara, half of his body was already destroyed. One of Obito’s Eyes was also crushed.
Hashirama’s cells were used as a prosthetic and the energy of the Gedo Statue was utilized to keep him alive. He could’ve developed his own Rinnegan because he already had Uchiha bloodline and Hashirama Senju’s Cells now. But he couldn’t do it.
To activate the Rinnegan, one must possess chakra from Indra Otsutsuki and Asura Otsutsuki. Obito Uchiha didn’t fulfill the requirements to become a real Rinnegan user. He lacked the chakra of Indra Otsutsuki because he wasn’t Indra’s reincarnation.
Uchiha Obito obtained Asura’s chakra because of Hashirama’s cells, but he was unable to obtain Indra’s chakra. Madara Uchiha had also awakened the Rinnegan since he was Indra’s Reincarnation, so when Asura’s chakra combined with Indra’s, it gave him the Rinnegan.
If Obito had somehow been able to get Indra’s chakra, he could’ve awakened the Rinnegan as well. To do that, he needed the eyes of Madara Uchiha. But at that time it wasn’t possible to just steal Madara’s eyes and Obito at that young age didn’t have enough knowledge to plan and awaken his own Rinnegan so he didn’t do it.
Does Obito Have Rinnegan Sharingan?
No, Obito had the Ten-Tails and yet was unable to activate his Rinne Sharingan on his own.
To acquire Kaguya’s power (Rinne Sharingan), one must combine the power of the Ten-Tails/Six Paths Senjutsu and Hagoromo’s eyes (Rinnegan).
Obito was unable to carry this task out.

Later on, he steals Nagato’s Rinnegan and implants it in his left eye to use it in the war.
Obito’s body was destroyed by a boulder so he combined Madara’s Hashirama Senju cells with him in order to live on. As such, he is not able to awaken the Rinnegan because he does not have Indra Otsutsuki chakra which is required for that ability.
